Mary-Sue Atkinson is a well-known volunteer who devotes countless hours to the preservation and well being of the salmon resource. She is a Director of the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society, a member the Nechako River White Sturgeon Action Planning Group and is actively involved in public education.
She is also a North Shore Stream keeper. Mary-Sue Atkinson has worked tirelessly to raise public awareness about the value of riparian habitat to a healthy watershed and to ensure the survival of wild salmon.
She helped to establish the "Gently Down the Seymour" program to teach school children about watershed stewardship. She has also contributed to public education about the current state of coho stocks in British Columbia.
