Marilyn Murphy has a lifetime of experience associated with sustainable use of Pacific fisheries resources. At the early age of sixteen she was a recreational fishing guide, then operations manager, and now a partner in her family sport fishing business, Murphy Sportfishing, located on Vancouver Island's West Coast.
She served for several years as the Executive Director of the Sport Fishing Institute of BC, as well as an executive member of the BC Sport Fish Advisory Board and a member of the Southern Panel of the Pacific Salmon Commission.
Marilyn's appointment to the PFRCC and other councils, boards and panels illustrates the value of her knowledge and concern for conservation and the sustainable management of the fisheries resource.
